Two girls, who suddenly got the spark to create a long-lasting and classic collection of clothing for women. Sandra Barajakli and Simone Falck, founded Barfàl in 2021. We wanted to create clothes that would make us happy when putting them on - with cheerful prints and carefully chosen materials. Our products are handmade in Helsinki and we have focused on high-quality materials that derive from carefully chosen producers. We aim to support local businesses and give them the love they deserve.
Our Mission
Our mission is to create long-lasting, handmade, and high-quality products in Finland.
Our products are, to some extent, made-to-order, however, we do have some pieces in stock. We attempt to have a zero-waste policy in this way, which means that just the requested number of things are created. We ensure that our environmental impact is minimized by creating only the requested amount of things.
Why do we only manufacture our items in Finland? First, it is more environmentally friendly, and second, we want to support other Finnish local businesses.
Our Process
When creating a new collection, we focus on finding high-quality material for our products.
The design and production of our clothing begins with us developing something we believe will be timeless and that people will enjoy wearing. Simone prototypes the piece, and if it meets our expectations, it will be included in the next collection. When the prototypes are ready, our wonderful seamstress, makes the garments in her atelier in Paimio.
When creating our jewellry, we begin by creating items that complement our clothes collection. We chose sterling silver for our jewellry because it is both durable and user-friendly. All of our jewellry is handcrafted in Helsinki by our talented jeweler.
Sandra is in charge of displaying our fantastic products to all of you when new designs are ready to be launched.
